We had a good turnout with most of the local community coming down and even some interested lurkers who spied the ad in the paper
Among some of the deals that went were a pair of flawless Yater swage blocks for 450$, a 300lb trenton for 500$, a Jere Kikpatrick treadle hammer for $600 (that didn't go!) and Lots of hand tools for good prices. The Prize had to be from a gentleman that showed up from Aberdeen (mill town on the coast) with a trukload of 1000lb steam hammer tooling. Alot of folks took home yard ornament clapper dies that weighed in the hundreds of pounds each for 20$- amazing! A few guys are also making their own CNC flame-cut steel swage blocks that are looking darn good. It had me thinking twice if I needed another (?!). By using steel, they can put more holes and shapes in them without loosing any durabilty. David Tuthill brought down an extra Old world Anvil Fly-press and sold it right after demo'ing. He could have easily sold two more since they seemed to be a huge hit with the 'off the grid' crowd; no electricity needed. Not to mention alot of us are urban smiths out here and with a fl!
ypress, you could be forging in your apartment!

All in all a good meet.
Next up is the NWBA fall conference in Mt. Vernon in Oct.

Cheers,
Steve Howell
