Hi Steve:

I took part in the brainstorming. One of the guys on the list was well on
the way towards building one though I'll have to go through my saved posts
to find his name. Please jump in as I'm a lazy guy and don't relish going
through a bunch of posts. <grin>

To date I've pretty well figured out the simplest valving scheme available
based on the 1902 Massey patent # 707246.

I also believe a scotch yoke is a good alternative to a long connecting rod
for the compressor piston.

Lastly I also believe using double ram pistons is a good or at least
workable alternative to ram guides. This will alow a much lower profile
hammer.

Though it'll be awhile before I start on one I'll be happy to answer any
questions I can.
