hello;

i am going to use a sheet of graphite embedded teflon about 1/32" thick
to help with sliding the sheet metal around. it will also protect the original
table and wood cabinet from the sheet metal. a different approach was use
be an individual which was an air plate. a 1/4 inch steel plate with
hundreds of orifice holes drilled into one side. the underside was machined
out and a cover plate was tig welled on. a low pressure air connection was
added at one end. the air flowing out of the orifice holes provides an air
cushion for the sheet metal to ride on. the problem i see with this approach
is that the sheet metal slides to easily. do not get me wrong it is a rather
nice table for their scroll saw but their cuts tend to be more straight and
with minimal curves or sharp corners.
