you're not too far off phlip. the guys house has those blue plastic barrels underneath. when high water comes the house floats. there are long pipes driven into the ground thru the deck on each corner. the house rides up the pipes as the water goes up. he has to disconnect his water supply and goes in and out in a canoe. not for me but he has lived there for 20 years......
