I'd like to add another source of new-found pleasure for bedside reading; The Society for Industrial Archeology's bi-annual journal.
These people, based out of the Michingan institute of technology are doing magnificent work characterizing aspects of our industrial past that most folks have taken for granted. I have only picked up one past issue but definately plan on more. A sampling of their lot includes stories on : Yukon industrial smithy, Wrought and Cast iron bridges, breweries, Eli Whitney Amory metallurgical evidence, Collins Axe factory in Connecticut, Adirondack Iron and Steel Co., etc. etc. I found it very intersting, hopefully others will too.
Check it out: http://www.sia-web.org/iajournal/pubs.html
