[TheForge] Speaking of Gas forges

I understand weldors do this all the time: Pile up fire bricks and stick =
a torch in the side to heat a large object.
You might consider just stacking up some insulating firebrick by the side =
opening of that forge to reduce the heat loss.

I've gotten a hold of a NC Forge LP forge that has a large door on the=20
side. This door allows a lot of heat to escape so it wont get to a =
welding=20
heat, but works fine for general forging. This particular unit has the =
cast=20
aluminum burners that are held in with a thumb screw. I've been thinking =
of=20
building a forge from loose fire brick (read ...adjustable size) and=20
putting the burners to the bricks. Any suggestions or things I should =
think=20
about when doing this?
thanks,
Mike
