Oh goody; a "hot" topic of interest to all! There are American made anvils of
first rate quality, and first rate overhead (let's not forget insurance
issues for manufacturers here). However, I fail to see imported anvils being
sold--for the probable equivalent of a year's wages for one of their workers--as
anything but greed. This is a chunk of steel, not a car! Harbor Freight sells
small import anvils for about a dollar per lb. Before anyone cries "door stop,"
I'm referring to their steel anvils--not the cast iron stuff.
The point is that all it takes is an importer, willing to do fair and square
business, to break up the game. No doubt Horrible Fright would import larger
anvils if they saw a market for them; just a thought.
