As a beginner this same effect is making it difficult for me to find a
reasonably sized, reasonably priced anvil. Anything decent seems to get snatched up
at what seem to be inflated prices. I've seen 100 or 120 pounders going for
$4-5 a pound. At that price I'm inclined to buy a new anvil from Old World or
Euro to get quality, or the 110lb cast steel from Harbor Freight to just get
started. Oh well..I wouldn't have had room for the 700 pound Hay Budden
anyway!
