In Paris, you should check out the department store La Samaratain. It
is very close to Notre Dame, a block from the Seine. The interior is a
peculiar industrial art deco, with Angle and Channel forged into curves
and flourishes, lots of rivets, and portions of it where seemingly
impossible ironwork turns out to be faux finished plaster which blends
seamlessly with real iron.
Pretty wacky, and well worth seeing. On the roof is a reasonably priced
cafe with amazing views of downtown Paris.
Another thing you might consider is buying the Dover book Art Noveau
Decorative Ironwork by Menten.
It actually has addresses for many of the elaborate houses with
ironwork on them in Paris. Some of these are gone, but many are still
existant.
