I have a Nikon 995, which I like pretty well.

The lcd screen is difficult for a couple of reasons:
-very hard to use in daylight
-hard to see if you are over 40
Both can be cured with a product called Xtend-a-view:

It is just a lens with a shadow box that velcro's on to your lcd frame. 
Very useful.

The lcd does draw a lot of juice, but if you set your camera to 
automatically shutdown after some period of inactivity, it doesn't 
really drag the batteries down too fast.
