I ave been using digital cameras for about ten years as I recall. I
started with them when they were large, burned up batteries and had low
resolution and low capacity(Old logtech unit as I recall, when the canon
and nikon were busy saying why digital would never be competitive). I
moved to digital because my wife used to freak at paying all of the
developing costs for rolls and rolls of "rusty junk". The newer
cameras are good enough that I use them for people and "rusty junk"
The camera I have found to be the best for me is the Canon digital
Elf. S230. It will do 3.2 megapixels, but I usually set the
resolution down for most of my stuff. It also will do short movies. I
never thought that I would use this feature, but find myself using it a
lot. Not world class video, but perfect for a little video of a hit an
miss engine running, or power hammer, or singing happy birthday at your
kids second birthday. The best feature is its dimunutive size. It is
the second Canon that I have had ( they won't work underwater
evidently). I also have tried the Nikon Coolpix 800 unit, which I now
keep in my car for whatever comes up.
