hello;
what i did when put in my high pressure propane piping was to use
black pipe and threaded fittings. no teflon tape or pipe joint sealer of
any type was used on the threads. tighten with pipe wrenches then when
a section was properly aligned every joint was back welded. the first
few were oxy-fuel welded the later were mig welded. as each section was
completed each was pressurised with compressed air and 'locked' off
for a 24 hour pressure drop test. any drop in pressure a soapy water
mixture was sprayed on each joint were there were bubbles the weld was
ground out and rewelded. repeat, lather, rinse.
you can use copper or brass pipe instead of black pipe.
the copper pipe must be the thick walled pipe. i do not remember which
letter that equates to. i am sure someone here knows the letter
designation.
brass pipe, yellow brass is preferred, but red brass is tolerated.
both copper and brass must be brazed and not hard soldered.
fine points, copper and brass pipe require more hangers/supports per
foot than black pipe.
