[TheForge] Strengthening castable refractory

Hey Marc,
What castable are you using?
For most refractories (castable and inswool) I drill a series of
holes about 4" apart in the upper forge wall and then screw in ss screws
about 3/4 the thickness of the refractory.
With castable, screw the screws into under size holes in the wall and then
cast in the refractory.
With inswool make the holes slightly oversize and first install the wool and
then coat the screws with satenite and screw into the inswool.
After the first firing, the screws will be permanently bonded  into  the
refractory walls.
