Nice to see that TheForge is still going strong and that many of the "old
gang" are still on here and active. Also I sure there are many new folks I
will soon get to know. I have been off TheForge for about 3 years now.
After retirement we started the building and moving to a new house and shop
in the woods of North Carolina. I decide to drop out of TheForge since I
would be away from the computer for long periods and couldn't deal with the
email traffic stack up. Then a year ago, when the old house in Knoxville
sold and we moved into an apartment I just didn't pick back up because I was
busy working on the new house - and editing the Appalachian Area Chapter
Blacksmiths Newsletter.

Well we are in the house, it's not finished yet, lots of trim work to do,
doors to build, door hardware etc. etc. But I am tired of reading the "Fine
Homebuilding" forum and it time to go back to reading about blacksmithing,
ABANA debates, etc. Still don't have the shop finished but the building is
up and I hope to have the forge going by late this fall. (Have to have
somewhere to do all of that door hardware for the house.)

I wonder now is Frosty coming on his house and shop up north?

Do you want to build a house and still do blacksmithing? - don't build the
house. At least not if you are an old man.

We are located in Brasstown, NC just 3 miles from the John C. Campbell Folk
School. So if you are in the area look us up, we are in the phone book.

not many tree frogs here.)
