What are these "caking inhibitors"? 

 If organic (carbon-compounds) they'd be irrelevant, as they'd burn off
at fluxing temp.  

In table salt, the caking inhibitor is silica or one of its salts. 
Since silica is itself a flux, I doubt it would do any harm..

Try to get pure borax, not the 20 mule team type of household borax.
The caking inhibitors in it tend to make it inferior as a fluxing
compound.
