First let me apologize for posting a non-blacksmith question on this
forum. Please delete if it offends you or you are not interested/can
not help.
The problem started with my desktop and before I knew it I was replacing
a hard drive. No virus was found and the tech's think the drive just
died. Well at that same time, I started using my notebook till the PC
was repaired. Now I believe my notebook computer has a virus, but when
I run virus check programs such as "housecall" and mcafee they say it is
clean. The reason I think it has a virus is one day I turned it on and
it crashed, when I restarted it most of my windows programs (MS office)
were no longer in the computer. I searched the hard drive from dos and
they were not there. BUT! there was a brand new dir called "someth~1"
that said "something wrong happened" as a description and contained 1
application file. So my question is, has anyone heard of a similar
problem and is there a fix?
Thanks for your indulgence.
