Another Bob (Walsh) from Minnesota wrote up a neat idea in an Anvils Ring some time ago. He also had a small shop and had to make some big scrolls (cold). His idea was to mount a 1' ratchet to the *side* of his bench. Then weld a 1" socket to the bottom of his scroll form.

Then he could move his long piece of steel up and down to form the scroll. click click up bend down, click click up bend down, etc. Most shops have up and down room going to waste.
