Nope, not if you had a real short throw to the crossarm and it was 
inside the diameter of the piece you were bending. You might have to 
remove the vertical handle, but that is doubtful. (Remember Grasshopper, 
that the crossarm is adjustable by placement on the screw shaft, and the 
stop.)
You are correct if the press has a wheel.
