Which makes me wonder if there is a way to figure the limit to the flange
thickness/diameter bend ratio. I imagine the 20-30 foot dia. would easily
bend in one pass... would there be a point at which it would take two
passes? Just curious, as I never expect to be involved in such. Though I
could imagine a 4" leg of angle iron being the top of a round table that
glass or wood sat on. Need more machines and a bigger shop ;) KD

Back in the bad and sad days of Phoenix when I was at the shop
in Mesa, we used to do our tough ring rolling at a friend's
shop. He had a hydraulic roller. One day I showed up and he
was rolling arcs, 4" x 1/4" on edge, cold. You go REAL slow
and steady, but damn if that contraption didn't roll perfect
segments of a ring that was 20 or 30 feet in diameter. I was
duly impressed.
