[TheForge] 36" diameter ring

Bob,
Horseshoes are bent on the edge, tires on the flat (at least to my
undrstanding). I usually end up bending a spiral as I bend enough to judge
how too tight I started and have to back bend the tighter sections. I liked
Phil's comment to do it on a flypress, it would give very consistent nudges.
perhaps could actually calculate the spread of the stationary posts and the
depth of the moving post with a drawn radius, give or take a little for the
spring of the cold steel. Know anyone willing to experiment with their
brand-newly acquired flypress for the cost of a beer???? Lemme know ;)

It depends on what you're calling on the flat or on the edge.
Let's just say it's the easier of the two.
It's to hold a large copper kettle (probably an apple butter kettle).
So Kevin, how do you determine how much is the right amount to pull each
time?
Do you check it after the first pull or two, then adjust from there?

Bob, when's the wedding? :)... OK, is the ring on the flat or edge?
Actually, doesn't matter. Take your ten+ feet of stock mark it every two
inches, place each mark on the same place of the stationary bending fork and
working fork and make approximately the same pull/motion at each two
inches... just alittle motion each time.
