Hey Bob,
The "jerk" was Jim Schell, of Schell Glass, and he was deathly ill at that
time.
I think he has passed away since then.
You are right about the gold layer being fragile.
Some one on theforge or knifelist sent me a new source for the glasses and
face shields that has the gold imbedded in the plastic, But unfortunately I
misplaced the message some where.
I hope you give the glasses another try.
Every one I know who uses them loves them.
