Subject: [TheForge] Spectroscope

While lecturing y'all about the lack of UV emmissions from a forge fire, I
was thinking how nice it would be if everybody had a spectroscope so they
could see these things for themselves (not the UV, of course, but the lack
of intensity in the purple-end of the spectrum from a forge fire).

Well, it occurred to me that a compact disk is a pretty good reflection-type
diffraction grating, as anyone can tell from the rainbow colors they
produce. So I did a google search, and lo and behold, someone thought of it
already! The following gives detailed instructions how to build your own
spectroscope from a CD and misc. other trash:

Enjoy.
