Heck I just welded up an iron box outa 1/8" plate roughly 18" on ea side,
cut a triangle shaped hole in one side,with an area about 80% of the area of
the 12" stove pipe I stuck in the top.  No smoke shelf, no rocket science ,
It just works great.  Would give you exact measurement of what I did if you
want .
