[TheForge] Hammer Anvil Materials

I am looking for input from you guys as to where to look for material of
suitable size to use as anvils (round or square) for not only my 35lb air
hammer that I am building but also for a couple of treadle hammers as well.
I am wanting to pick this stuff up as salvage material or scrap. Not knowing
what common uses there are for material of this size makes it difficult to
know where to look. What is stuff like this used for - shafting or what?

Would mines or sawmills have anything like this 4 inch or bigger stock?
Preferrably 5 inch or bigger.

Got any ideas here guys?
