Can you heat the al. to forging temp. then punch out?

turbine maintenance overhauls I used to collect all the EZ-outs, and other
gadgets from the millwrights and have them use a tap size drill and tap out
the remaining metal. Still a tricky operation, but then you aren't trying to
extract the EZ-out.
