[TheForge] what is this "MIRC" thing

I've used Mirc for many years.  It is a good program for chat.  Anyone =
can create a new channel and chat on it.  There are channels that become =
"official" in that they are widely supported in relay servers and will =
have 24x7 robotic presence intended to prevent invasions of the channel =
by pirates and other assholes with nothing better to do with their =
miserable excuses for lives.  Mirc is a windows-based client, as opposed =
to IRC which was implemented for character mapped interfaces.

Dan,

The MIRC thing is a real time chat room thing.  M???? Internet Relay =
Chat=20
(forget what the M part stands for).  If, like me, you don't have time =
for=20
much more mail, then you surely don't have time to sit around typing to=20
chat in real time.
