Brian, I don't know where to get it, but I do know that it is also used for
cleaning & curing soldering coppers.

Subject: [TheForge] Re:Sal Ammoniac for flux
OK, folks, here's a puzzler...
Does anyone know of a cheap source of or common use for sal ammoniac
(ammonium chloride)? I want to use some to blend up my own flux, but
everything that I've found so far is more expensive than commercial welding
flux.
The only common use that I've found so far is for stained glass workers. I'm
sure it's probably some sort of cleaning powder, but I'm not sure.
any ideas?
Thanks
BG
