That is an excellent solution. It's suprising that a basket made with
1/4" isn't strong enough to hold a lot of weight. I went out after
your post and looked at a couple pickets I made with the same sort of
basket and they appear to be pretty strong, they don't flex much and I
sure enough can't compress them with my body weight.
