Caranuba is or at least used to be available through specialty woodworker 
supply houses like Woodcraft.  

As for myself, I still pretty much just use beeswax or -- more commonly -- 
parrafin (usually corrupted or "dirty" wax my beloved can't use in her 
candlemaking).
