[TheForge] Winter is coming (was: sure is quiet)

Only thing I'd add is that corn needs to be quite dry, I don't remember =
how dry. Mixing it with pellets might modify how dry it needs to be =
also.
I have a plan for a corn stove that I will vent up through a small =
feed bin like they use in automatic chicken feeders, let the stack heat =
keep the corn dry. Will of course surround the stack with perforated =
metal or perforate the outside of a double walled vent pipe. Then auger =
the corn down into the house straight into the burner, fill it once or =
twice a year the way my place heats. Problem I'm having is finding one =
that heats water so I can heat my floor with it. There is one made by =
Amazing Corn stoves, I think, that heats water, but it's like $4,000 and =
I can heat with natural gas for over four years for that much and don't =
have to mess with it or buy corn. Also the guy at Amazing said the corn =
for his stoves had to be very clean, no mold or dust, sounds too touchy.
