Harry,
I have a 35,000btu propane heater in my shop. It is wall mounted and wall vented. Air for combustion comes in thru the double walled vent pipe. I have it on a thermostat and it will keep my shop 45F all winter. Makes it much easier to go out and work. I think it cost $500-$600 five+ years ago.
No hauling corn/pellets/wood/emptying ash/etc. Been there, done that.
