[TheForge] Painting Cast Aluminum fountain for outdoors

Just got a 3-tier aluminum fountain which will be installed as the Peace Fountain at my wife's school.
It comes unpainted and rough(from Mexico) and after I grind it smooth am going to paint it black.
My thought is to prime it with metal primer and use several coats of epoxy paint. Any suggestions?
