I have a customer who is thinking of
using either a chinese chain or a rope
rather than a downspout on his Taliesan
knockoff house. Either would be
preferable as the place was clearly
designed to have water just cascade from
the eaves, with no gutters. I do not
believe it rained in Frank Lloyd Wrights
universe.
We have worked out something to do with
the gutters which will not screw up the
lines of the house, however downspouts
will still stick out like a zit on prom
night. Either a rope of chain will suit
the semi oriental feel of the place.
Question: Is there an organic rope
material which will stand up under the
wet use and outdoor exposure here in
Wisconsin? I am thinking 1.25" rope .
