Most zinc rich primers are porous and need to be sealed to work in a
harsh environment. Acrylic paint also passes moisture mostly. The zinc
must go down over a very clean surface without rust to work. It is not as
good as hot dip by far. Alot of welded galvy water tanks are sold here on
the coast and they use the cold galv paint on the beads and seams..which is
where they rust out.
