Every heat run in my house has at least
one set of a left/right elbow and
nipple. They use these instead of a
union to make the last connection in the
basement beneath the radiators. Also
wall mounted sections of radiation are
often tapped left on one side right on
the other so that sections can be
screwed together. I have a die for
threading nipples for just this purpose.
