[TheForge] Consignment sales: Good or bad??

I haven't sold items through stores, but I've read about doing so. The =
best advice I've heard about consignment sales is: Don't Do It! The store =
owner has no investment in your wares - he gets to display them for free. =
If they're shoplifted, you're out, not him. If he never sells it, he's =
only out the space. There's nothing to prevent him from discounting your =
price and giving you a lesser price. All the cards are in his hands, none =
in yours.

If the store owner is reluctant to buy my wares, should I offer to leave =
on consignment? What terms? Written contract? All opinions welcome.
Thanks, Doug
