[TheForge] Chemical Questions ?

The new top coat will be "bronzetone" a rather generic color that I use on
most everything that I do. The original came out of Yellin's shop with a wax
finish. That will not do in this situation. There are traces of old paint on
the grills, some white and some black. The client liked the bronzetone but
the reality is that both grills are set into a huge window that over looks
the river. The bright daylight that comes through the window washes out ALL
of the detail of the grills and they do not have specific lighting inside
the room for the grills. The client was aware that these were 'nice' pieces
but really had no idea what a treasure he had. Too bad. I am afraid that
these two pieces are distend to live out the next 20 or 30 years as
silhouettes in a big window in a room with a big swimming pool. The best
thing that I can do is to try to protect them from the chlorine.
