So far as I know, there aren't any. Manatee Historic Village has the
equipment, but unless something has changed in the past couple years, no
smith (he last time I was there, the equipment was in the boat shop).
Spanish Point in Osprey has a smith interested in working with them (ME!),
but museum bosses don't seem to have much interest. There are 2 historic
sites near there with smiths, volunteers who are there when they can be, and
when I last checked they didn't offer classes. And of course I can't
remember the names....one is just outsideof Sarasota to the west, the other
NorthWest of Bradenton.
Ringling School doesn't regularly offer any metals classes, although there is
talk of holding some soon. Manatee Community College has welding classes, no
forging.
As for the iron shops in Sarasota, well, they're all pretty much cut and weld
shops. Even Kreisle Forge doesn't do much forging anymore.
