Yes its a *very* bad attitude!  It's not a turd its a "pre-eaten 
meal".   (BTW my spell checker doesn't recognize "turd" and suggests 
"Turk"  as an alternative.  is this some kind of devious ethnic slur?)

While we are on the subject:  IMO the word "Artist" is used much too freely 
in general and among blacksmiths in particular.  Seems like anyone who can 
put a decorative twist on a piece is now an "Artiste".   What happened to 
the craftsmen?     There is very little art  (unless you mean "art" in the 
antiquated sense of "craft")  there is good craftsmanship   and there is 
good craftsmanship spoiled by pretensions to "art"

If you really want to find bullshit blather read the "artists 
statements"  that people post on their websites.   Apart from the usual 
waffle about "harmony and integration",  I found a gem at a woodworkers 
site where  asserts that he "tries to think like a piece of wood"   I guess 
he was successful too!
