I'm presently using a horizontal cylinder. I've used square and rectangular
box forges, brick pile forges and have seen clamshell forge pictures.
I don't know how significant shape actually is, all the ones I've used got
plenty hot provided there was enough burner. Still, I'm always interested in
more efficient fires and would love to hear about any experience.
