[TheForge] using a tipi as a smithy

We used a tipi for a bedroom while we were building our house.
No disrespect toward Jack Andrews, but I don't see how I could use a tipi
for a smithy, except in an emergency. I'm always swinging long pieces of bar
around and I know I'd have the thing full of holes in a week!
It does have the advantage (over a canopy) of having a ready-made chimney,
and it is adjustable to be comfortable in different temps and weather
conditions, but for the $1200 plus poles that we put into ours I could build
a fine little pole building, on skids, that would have a rough chimney and
be fireproof too.
If you absolutely can't have a permanent structure and you don't heat long
stock, then, yes, it would work great.
IMHO,
Andy G.
