"Would the design allow the door to be made with copper panels which
could 
be held on by strip or folded tracks allowing the panels to expand and 
contract under the strips. maybe use copper nails to hold the strips."

I haven't talked to the architect about this idea that has been brought
up about expansion and contraction of the copper.  I will though, and let
him decide how the copper will be attached to the door.  I am going to
cut all the comments I received about my copper questions and paste them
on one sheet and talk with the architect in the next couple of days.
