Well Steve, I hate to brag (oh, no I keep fogetting! I love to brag!) I used to
get the 4 X 7 inch dies in my 200 lb. Chambersburg BLUE by lunch time. Worked out
well at that. Just put hamburger between aluninum foil and lower the ram down on
it with a spacer block in the back, and viola! Chambersburgers!
You are quite right though, for flat dies 4340 is more than good enough.
