Yes, if my forge were constructed in such a manner that doing such a thing
were helpful ;-) But, as it is, the only sensible way to bring the heart of
the fire up to where I want it is to put fire clay down in the bottom, and
raise it that way- that is what I had originally intended, and I've just got
to do it. Weather is getting nice enough so I can get back to work, and I have
everything I need, other than charcoal to burn.....

Anybody know where I can get a good supply of charcoal at a reasonable price,
preferably somewhere near SE Connecticut? Burning my own is not an option, for
the time being.....
