My  black steel pipe comes with a
varnish like coating. In small doses
probably harmless. This was black pipe
right? Not galvanized? The zinc is not
good for you. If the pipe was threaded
there may have been some cutting oil
inside. Some of this oil is high is
sulfur. I am assuming there were no
snakes or dead rodents in the pipe. They
stink when properly heated. DAMHIKT. If
the pipe was used, then it is anyone's
guess.
