Fire was a major concern, also security.
Pole barn out of telephone poles. 6" Metal studs horiz.
Vert. Ext. Gyp tongue- and -groove 2' x 8'
6" metal studs as roof joist(rafters) 1"x4" PT
furring strips to screw metal decking to.
The only wood to burn is columns (9)
and furring strips on 2' centers. Size is 20'x 32'
and fixing to be doubled to 40x32.
Ext gyp is sometimes called "brown board"
It is used under synthetic stucco, Dryvit ,etc. I was going to stucco
over 1 1/2" styro., but "haven't got a round tuit", for insulation.
It does get cold in Ga. 13 d with 80% humidity and 15mph wind.
Even cuts through "Down" coats. But..... it's what you
get acclimated to. We crack and bleed in Colo. and the
Colo. boys wilt in our 98d -98 % humidity.
Couldn't even make a snowball out of the sugar-type snow Colo.
had.
But I digress.
The main change I would make to shop would be.. raise eave height 2'.
Too close to heat. But cosy in winter.
