[TheForge] welding rod storage

This discussion happens with regularity on the gun lists, the
concern there is of course rust, but we also can't have a totally dry
atmosphere, that would ruin the wood. The small heat source is the
most efficient way to prevent rust, most everyone uses some form of it
and the general consensus is that, 10 degrees over the outside temp.
will prevent rust and won't dry out the wood.

Perhaps for this purpose a higher temp. wouldn't hurt, but 25 watts
in a space that small is plenty. Years ago a friend of mine worked in
an appliance store. One particular refrigerator they sold would not
bring the temp. inside down past 47 degrees, no matter what they did.
They finally gave the customer a new fridge and took the bad unit
back. After all they had done, once it was sitting on the tech's shop
floor, he immediately noticed that the light wasn't shutting off when
the door was closed.

That refrigeration unit couldn't overcome a 25 watt bulb burning
constantly. Plenty of heat for storage/moisture control purposes.
