I have a friend in the Bay area(San Fran) who does a lot of lost wax =
casting. When he set up his shop he built a burn out oven to cure his =
molds. Attempting to save money, he ran a gas hose WITHOUT a regulator =
from a 100# propane bottle to the oven. He even had a friend there to =
help. A loose band clamp gave way and the whipping hose with about 250 =
psi straight off the cylinder was a flamethrower that they could not get =
past in order to shut off the valve... He spent about 3 months in the =
burn unit, has some interesting skin grafts, and is a bit wiser. =
Amazing how inexpensive a regulator seems to said friend these days.
You can see what he does with the craft at www.eganbronze.com, check out =
the image at the artist button.
Ralph, your use of sealtite/sealflex with the metal ferrules is an =
excellent idea for an hot steel/abrasion resistant sleeve. I have =
dropped large glowing objects on my air line and thought how nice that =
it was not my propane hose... You also might consider aluminum flexible =
conduit, and with that you don't have the burning vinyl that you get =
with the sealtite
