I'm hip to that....I butted heads with a degreed engineer once on a
particular bit of design in a particular building.  The issue got very
polarized very quickly among those involved.  The majority chose to
take his advice.
   After we rebuilt the section I had protested the design to. No one
wanted me to be part of the group anymore.  HONEST, I never said "I
told you so", not even once, I just dug in and helped solve the
problem, but gratitude among humans is rare.
