"But, remember that
ABANA has made all necessary reports available to the membership. Any
and ALL expenses incurred in additional reviews are the REQUESTING
PARTY'S RESPONSIBILITY.
Also, since additional reviews are beyond the duties of the Treasurer
of ABANA, my time in compiling information would be billed out to the
requesting party. I bill at $60.00 per hour.
If you have any requests for additional reviews, please contact me at
P.O. Box 475; Sterling, AK 99672.
William L. Hightower
Treasurer for ABANA"

"All the necessary reports"....does this mean enough information? Or a
legal and financial impediment to a review?
This attempt at a preemptive , damage control conversation stopper comes
from the same abana board member who "mislead" the abana membership on
this very forum in the past. Then ABANA Board member Hightower stated
falsely that the '98 conference "did not make a dime for abana". The
ABANA Board accepted accounting for '98 that showed a five figure income
for Abana...........no credibility issues here, eh?
In an official, threatening letter from the ABANA Board, Secretary of
Abana Kagle stated to me that this is an official abana site, (ergo Mr
Hightower's falsehood of the past was made as an offical board member on
an abana's offical site).
As a related aside, I now hear from a sitting Board member that the
ABANA Board was not informed of Secretary Kagel's legal action against
an Abana member, taken on the Boards behalf.........no credibility
issues here, eh?
Now this.
The planning, operation and finances of 2002 conference has already
become a contentious issue. The conference auction has as well.
For the first time in a decade with no independent oversight, our board
ran an event which (according to quotes of the director) was put
together by competing Board factions, with no "break-even" number
established for the accounting.
ABANA's membership deserve full answers.......we get an offer to pay a
sitting ABANA Board Treasurer by the hour.
I have repeatedly asked Mr Hightower to verify the statement of fact by
the publications committee chairman that the change of publishers and
editors of the anvil's ring did save abana the claimed $25,000. He
refuses to answer.
So, Will ABANA Treasurer Hightower, how many of your specified $60
payments to you personally will it take to get the answer?
